The sun was shining down through the mulberry trees, lighting up morning glory flowers all over the garden today. These vines are almost done for the year – I’ve been pulling them up all week. I’m a little sorry to see the blossoms go, but they really only look like this in the morning. The rest of the time… meh.
Two kinds of tomato jam – sweet and smokey, or slightly spicy. These will eventually be Christmas presents for friends and family…well, assuming we don’t eat it all first!
This photo is a little murky, mainly because I was shooting through an old distorted window and a big rosemary shrub (note to self: I need to prune that sucker back), so terms like “amazing clarity” and “sharp focus” will not be used to describe this image. I decided to post it anyway because when something as cute as a titmouse in a teacup happens, you just have to share.
Glad to see a mantis in the garden today. I was concerned that the wasps had gotten all of them.

I bought 20 pounds of tomatoes yesterday. Tomato jam this weekend!
I’ve been letting birdseed grow wherever it sprouts in the garden this year. I was curious about what would grow. I don’t know what this plant is, but I like the little star flowers that grow on it.
Summer will be over soon and all the interesting insects will be gone, so here’s another jumping spider while they’re still around.
