I took a day trip out to the coast on “Black Friday” because competitive shopping isn’t my thing. This big red umbrella was the first object to catch my eye as I walked out onto the beach.
I thought it was rare to see one of these this late in October, then I logged in to my 365 account tonight and everyone is posting ladybug pictures! 🙂 I guess the little beetles are on the move, looking for a warm place to hibernate.
I went to the land of quaint barns and apple orchards today. Apple Hill is about 45 minutes east of where I live and it’s mandatory to go there at least once each fall for apple pickin’, pie eatin’ and pumpkin gatherin’. I didn’t do any of that, but I did score an apple doughnut.
My bottlebrush tree came from a cutting from my grandfather’s bottlebrush tree many years ago. It has traveled with me through 5 different moves, but now is happily growing in the ground. If I ever move again I’ll take a cutting with me.
