The titmouse pair are so fun to watch. They dig through the feeder looking for the particular kind of seed they like, take just one, then fly up to a branch and start pecking at it. Once they have finished that course, they fly back down and start all over again.
A red shouldered hawk being uncharacteristically silent. I so often hear them screeching and calling long before I spot them.
Pigeon here. Got any more of that delicious seed?
Pige dropped in for a visit today. Apparently he’s reconsidering his career as a racing pigeon. He’s going to just roost on top of the barbecue for a bit and try not to think about the irony of the situation.
This little bird OWNS the back yard.
This little titmouse and its mate have been working the garden this week, looking for spiders and other insects to eat. They are extremely active and vocal – a lot of fun to watch as they flit around, chattering to each other.

I grew up on the beach, and I can’t say I ever saw a mother duck take her ducklings out into the surf until now. After multiple attempts, and repeatedly getting washed back into shore, the duck family finally made it past the breakers and headed out toward open sea.
The turkeys seem to enjoy scratching around in this particular meadow.
Some days I get no respect.
