Last month I posted a photo of some acrylic flower dishes I found at a flea market. Since then I’ve glued wooden disks and dowels to them, and now they’re little bird feeders for the garden.
Bones’ primary goal is to catch a squirrel. He finds all sorts of hiding places in close proximity to squirrel traffic and waits very patiently, but his murderous plans are continuously ruined by my interference. I’m no fun at all.
The weather was so nice yesterday – our first really warm day of the year. I spent the day tidying up the garden and setting out some flowering plants for the bees and wasps that were buzzing about. This one stopped off for a drink of water from a different kind of flower.
Shortly before midnight I realized I hadn’t touched my camera at all today, but fortunately I had snapped a few flower photos with the cell phone earlier. It was too windy to do much out in the garden, so I took refuge in the greenhouse and checked in on the occupants waiting to be planted.
It was super windy today, the kind of wind that knocks trees down and snaps telephone poles, so my plans to hang up this bee house were put on hold. Once the weather is nicer I’ll select a good spot for this house and put out the welcome mat.
Spring time is two steps forward, one step back in regards to the weather. We get teased with a warm day, then a storm hits. I want to start moving these seedlings into the garden, but the ground is still cold, so we wait..
