Farm to Fork Capital
After decades fighting against its reputation as a ”cow town,” today Sacramento secured that nickname forever by staging a cattle drive over Tower Bridge and straight down to the capitol building to kick off Farm to Fork week.
Sacramento is the Farm to Fork capital of America… according to Mayor Kevin Johnson. I guess this title will stand until the day some other city claims rights to it, at which point there may be a fight. Perhaps with forks.

This is one of those end of the day snapshots where I realize that I haven’t taken a picture of anything yet, so I look around my bedroom for something, anything to shoot. Earrings!
You Again
I think this is the same little guy I discovered on one of my tomato plants earlier this month – he has unusual markings. Today I noticed him when he lunged at a skipper butterfly that was feeding on an escallonia blossom. He didn’t catch it, and I was glad I didn’t have to witness a skipper death. I wouldn’t mind so much if he’d catch a cabbage butterfly though – I’m tired of dealing with their voracious offspring. =)
Well Hello Cosmo(s)
There’s not a lot blooming out in the garden right now (poor bees), so I was happy to see one of the two giant cosmos plants had a big pink flower on it this morning. Hopefully the other one will bloom soon as well.
